One of the most common mistakes most people make when wanting to learn How To Song Write is that they take advice from way to many people. Songwriting requires focus and to be blasted with hundreds of different tecniques will soon leave you spinning and running around in circles.

Firstly - what is it to be a songwriter?

Does a songwriter only write lyrics? Does a songwriter write music and write lyrics? Does writing a song incorporate writing lyrics, writing music and lets choose an instrument for instance play guitar as well?

Now this blog is all about breaking boredom and stimulating the mind. You will find different topics in this blog and fortunately for me this topic on How To Song Write is something that I know a little about as I’ve been writing songs for about 15 years. Now, I would call myself a songwriter because I can write lyrics, write music and play guitar oh and sing as well. I have different approaches to my songwriting. Sometimes I write lyrics first and then put some guitar (my musical instrument of choice) down after or vice versa. Sometimes I hum a melody, get the guitar going with it and then add lyrics. There are so many variables and it can be confusing at times that is why I think we all need a little guidance.

Having been involved with music my whole life and researched every angle to improve my musical ability’s, very rarely have I come across platforms and tutorials that really inspire me and take me to the next level, after all we all get stuck on one level at some stage or another and just need that catalyst to take us further. I found a wonderful bunch of people doing their best for music by emparting their knowledge onto others. They have spent thousands of dollars and lots of their own precious time to put these books and courses together so that we may benefit from them
